External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar conducted a computerised draw for the selection of Yatris for the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra (KMY) 2026 and a total of 1000 Yatris have been selected through a fair, computer-generated, random, gender-balanced selection process, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Thursday.

“The 2026 edition of the KMY will commence in June and conclude in August,” the MEA said in a statement.

The selected Yatris will travel in 20 batches, each consisting of 50 Yatris, through the Lipulekh and Nathu La passes.

“Both routes are now fully motorable, and involve very little trekking. The route and batch details are available on the Yatra website,” the statement said.

“Notifications regarding selection have been sent to shortlisted Yatris through SMS and email. Yatris can also log in to the Yatra website (https://kmy.gov.in) to check the status of their selection, or dial the helpline number: 011-23088214,” the statement added.
