Congress leader Jairam Ramesh Sunday posed three questions directly to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, criticizing their governments’ performance in addressing the state’s issues. He highlighted the concerns over paper leaks, recruitment scams, and the state’s economic condition.

“Under the protection of your regime, Bihar has seen dozens of paper leaks and recruitment-admission exam scams, ruining the futures of lakhs of youth,” Ramesh wrote in a post on handle X, questioning: “Why was such foul play indulged in with the hard work and futures of crores of Bihar’s youth?”

Ramesh pointed out that 64 per cent of Bihar’s population, nearly 9 crore people, live on just Rs 67 a day while 3 crore 18 lakh people have left the state in search of employment elsewhere due to the government’s policies prejudicial to the welfare of the people of the state.

He questioned the government’s response to the Comptroller and Auditor General’s (CAG) exposure of scams worth Rs 70,000 crore in 10 departments and highlighted the state’s crime situation, citing eight major murders and shootouts in just one week. “Is this the so-called reign of good fortune from your much-hyped double-engine government,” the Congress leader asked the prime minister.

The Congress leader’s remarks came amid the PM’s roadshow in Bihar, which has sparked controversy and evoked criticism from Opposition parties.
