To commemorate the birth anniversary of the great freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, the Vishal Bharat Sansthan organized a five-day International Subhas Festival at Subhas Bhavan in Lamhi.
On Wednesday, the festival was inaugurated by Professor Priya Ranjan Trivedi, an environmentalist and Chancellor of Nagaland International University, by offering garlands, performing Aarti, breaking a coconut, and lighting a torch at the world’s first Subhas temple.
Upon Professor Trivedi’s arrival at Subhas Bhavan, the assembled youth gave him a rousing welcome with a shower of flowers.
The inauguration was accompanied by resounding slogans such as ‘Jai Hind’, ‘Delhi Chalo’, and ‘Give me blood, and I shall give you freedom’.
This temple in Kashi is the world’s first Subhas temple, where devotees come every year to offer prayers and pay homage to Subhas Chandra Bose’s philosophy.
On this occasion, an international seminar on the topic “Subhas: The Search Continues” was held in the Netaji Subhas Auditorium, attended by historians, researchers, and Subhasite thinkers.
Chief Guest Professor Priya Ranjan Trivedi said, “Subhas was not just a person, but an ideology and a movement. Inspired by him, thousands of young people dedicated their lives to the country. The absence of Subhas will always be felt in history. If Subhas’s advice had been followed, the country would not have been partitioned. This belief is ingrained in the hearts and minds of every Indian. The mystery of Subhas cannot be solved until all the records are made fully public and impartial, transparent research is encouraged. Until then, this question will remain before both history and the nation.”
He further added, “The search for Subhas continues—in history, in thought, and in our duties. Until India fully achieves its ideals, until courage, sacrifice, and discipline become the foundation of our lives, the search for Subhas will continue.”
Professor Ashok Kumar Singh, former head of the history department at Kashi Vidyapeeth and a historian, said that perhaps no other hero in the world has had their history tampered with as much as Subhas Chandra Bose.
