The International Solar Alliance (ISA) on Wednesday signed a “Framework for Action” with the Rajasthan Government to formulate detailed plans and strategies for expanding the state’s solar energy infrastructure for generation, transmission, and distribution.
ISA Director General Ashish Khanna and Rajasthan Energy Secretary Aarti Dogra signed the document, titled “Framework for Action – Advanced Clean Energy-Driven Sustainable Development,” in the presence of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma. Chief Secretary V Srinivas and several other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
Rajasthan is the first Indian state to sign such an agreement with the ISA. The primary focus areas of the partnership will include grid digitisation, AI-based demand forecasting, and the expansion of clean energy infrastructure, an official spokesperson said.
Under the agreement, the signatories will prepare a dedicated 2030–35 roadmap for energy storage and the upgradation and modernisation of the power grid.
The framework also provides for organising technical training programmes and workshops to strengthen capacity building. Stakeholder consultations will be held from time to time to ensure greater efficiency in power distribution.
As part of the initiative, a pilot project will be launched under Ajmer DISCOM using digital twin technology to forecast power demand and facilitate the integration of renewable energy into the power grid, the spokesperson added.
