Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s life and his ideals of “Jan Seva” (service), Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma donned the role of a “chai wala” for a while to prepare tea at a roadside stall and offer it to BJP workers.
The chief minister began the day participating in a Swachhata Abhiyan (cleanliness drive) organised at the City Park here at Mansarovar in the morning in commemoration of the prime minister’s birthday that lasted for almost an hour.
While returning from the programme, when the chief minister noticed a crowd of BJP workers at a nearby tea stall on the roadside, all of sudden he made up his mind for a stopover and freely mingled with the party workers. What is more, to the delight of the party activists and the onlookers, he headed straight to the counter of the tea stall and joined the owner preparing tea on the stove. He didn’t stop there, but went on personally serving it to the gathering.
Sharing light moments and exchanging pleasantries with everyone present on PM’s birthday, Sharma proceeded on his way to inaugurate an exhibition held at the Jawahar Kala Kendra to mark the birthday of ModiJi.
A series of grand programmes, including the Urban Jan Seva Camps, Rural Jan Seva Camps to address people’s needs and the grievances, medical camps and exhibitions were lined up for the celebration of the PM’s birthday throughout the state. These programmes would last for a fortnight.
The Urban Jan Seva Camp was inaugurated by CM Sharma at the state level function in the Tilak Nagar area here.
