Officials of the Devi Ahilyabai Holkar International Airport of Indore in Madhya Pradesh have removed the doctor posted in the airport’s medical room and also issued a show-cause notice to him, in connection with the recent case of a rat biting a passenger inside the airport’s departure waiting lounge.
As per information from officials, Dr Harshvardhan Singh has been removed from the Airport’s medical facility. He has also been issued a show-cause notice.
The action against him has come following the incident on 23 September, when a passenger, Arun Modi, a software developer from Bhopal, was travelling from Indore to Bangalore on IndiGo flight 6E 6739, accompanied by his wife. Arriving at the airport around 1 PM, the couple waited in the departure hall on the ground floor. While resting on a recliner, a rat entered Arun’s pants, biting him behind the knee.
The airport staff took Arun to the airport’s medical room, where he allegedly did not receive proper treatment.
Consequently, the airport doctor, Dr Harshvardhan Singh, was accused of not managing the incident properly and not showing sensitivity while treating the affected passenger.
