IndiGo flight status update: Where flights are cancelled, why the crisis continues, and the latest news today

A sea of stranded travellers, raised voices, and trolleys piled with baggage lying around – that’s what airports across India looked like on Friday as IndiGo’s crisis entered its fourth straight day. Thousands of passengers reported cancellations, endless waits, and even missing baggage, while the airline continued to battle severe operational trouble.

IndiGo has blamed the meltdown on crew shortages and the messy rollout of the revised Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) norms, a combination that has thrown its schedules completely off balance.

Aviation authorities have urged passengers to verify their flight status before travelling, with more cancellations expected through the weekend.

Why IndiGo flights are getting cancelled

IndiGo told the DGCA that the disruptions are mainly due to:

  • Pilot rostering gaps after FDTL Phase 2
  • Shortage of cockpit crew, especially for A320 operations
  • Winter weather delays and congestion
  • Technical and operational challenges across the network

Punctuality has dropped sharply:

  • 8.5 per cent on Thursday
  • 19.7 per cent on Wednesday
  • 35 per cent on Tuesday

DGCA has expressed dissatisfaction with IndiGo’s preparedness and placed the airline under close operational watch.
