Indian incense sticks are getting popular at Yiwu Market in China, said a spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy.
Sharing pictures of India-made incense sticks, ranging from sandalwood to Ayurvedic blends, Yu Jing, the spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in India, noted that fair prices are attracting Chinese buyers.
“Indian incense is getting popular in Yiwu Market, China. From sandalwood to Ayurvedic blends, its unique Eastern fragrances and fair price are attracting Chinese buyers,” she said in a post on X on Friday.
Earlier, in her post on October 9, Yu had shared a video of a Chinese girl performing Indian dance, with the caption, ”This adorable Chinese girl has a great passion for Indian dance and keeps practicing it! ”
Highlighting the resumption of direct flights between India and China, Yu called it, in a post on October 3, a significant step for enhancing cross-border exchanges and cooperation. She wrote, “As the world’s two most populous neighbors, #China and #India together account for over 2.8 billion people. The resumption of direct flights between the Chinese mainland and India will further facilitate cross-border travel, exchanges, and commerce.
For some time, the Chinese side has been in close communication with India to promote the early resumption of direct flights between the two countries.”
The Ministry of External Affairs also noted the importance of the development, saying it reflects the growing trend towards normalisation in bilateral ties.
As part of this understanding, direct flights between India and China are slated to resume by late October. The civil aviation authorities of both countries have held discussions on reviving services and finalising a revised Air Services Agreement.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and China’s President Xi Jinping recently met on the sidelines of the Shanghai Co-operation Organisation (SCO) in the port city of Tianjin. It was PM Modi’s first visit to China in seven years. President Xi told PM Modi that China and India should be partners, not rivals, while Modi said there was now an “atmosphere of peace and stability” between them.
