Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw confirmed that a Guinness World Record has been made for most pledges received under an AI Responsibility campaign in 24 hours. “It was the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi because of which we reached out to schools and colleges for the pledge for responsible use of AI,” Ashwini Vaishnaw said.
Also, the British record-keeping entity announced that a total of 2,50,946 pledges were received during the summit against a target of 5,000. Guinness World Records Adjudicator Pravin Patel presented the record certificate to the Union Minister at the event.
Under the India AI Impact Summit 2026, IndiaAI and Intel India collaborated on a Guinness World Records attempt for the Most AI Responsibility Pledges in 24 hours on the first day of the Summit (16 February 2026). Over 2.5 lakh students took a digital pledge to use AI for responsible innovation.
The AI Responsibility Campaign was driven by the IndiaAI Mission (Ministry of Electronics and IT, Government of India) and Intel India and became part of the nationwide citizen movement for responsible, ethical, and human-centric AI. The pledges received under the campaign were submitted for recognition by Guinness World Records.
The Summit, being held from 16-20 February in New Delhi, has brought together Heads of State and Government, ministers, global technology leaders, researchers, multilateral institutions, industry stakeholders, startups, and students.
