Union Climate Change and Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav said that India and Denmark have set ambitious targets for green energy in partnership. They will prove a milestone in environmental protection for the entire world and will contribute to the implementation of the Paris Agreement.

Bhupendra Yadav asserted that we can present an example in this direction in front of the world.

The minister was speaking at a function of the Indo-Danish Green Strategic Partnership in Delhi. He said the friendship can promote a sustainable lifestyle including life not only between the two countries but also for Europe and the whole world. It can also provide a meaningful platform for the exchange of ideas, best practices, knowledge, technology, and capacity building for its dissemination.

In the conference based on the theme India-Denmark Partners for Green and Sustainable Progress, Yadav presented India’s side. He said that the green strategic partnership between the two countries would usher in a new era of friendship and cooperation.

In fact, in May 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Denmark, agreed to strengthen the Green Strategic Partnership between the two countries with a focus on green hydrogen, renewable energy, and wastewater management.

Yadav said together both countries will achieve the ambitious climate and sustainable energy goals before the world and in this endeavor, they will also commit themselves to the founding principles of the Rio Convention which is of utmost importance. If we have to meet the challenges related to the global environment and climate change in the present scenario, there is an urgent need to address unsustainable production and consumption.

The Union Minister emphasised that everyone should adopt their lifestyle in harmony with the available resources while deciding their role in environmental protection.

He said our country is counted among the most populous democracies in the world. In this sequence, the graph of the economy is also going up. In such a situation, India wants to invite everyone’s participation in fighting the battle against climate change by following the mantra of Mission Life for environment-friendly life in front of the world.

Currently, India is making rapid strides towards inclusive and holistic sustainable development in the environmental dimension, both at the national level and at the global level through international partnerships. Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark also attended the occasion.

Indeed India and Denmark have agreed to strengthen green strategic partnerships with a focus on green hydrogen renewable energy and wastewater management. In this partnership, India Denmark Energy Partnership has agreed on technology transfer in the areas of integration for renewable energy with offshore wind and renewable energy modeling.
