City sizzles as Met dept extends heatwave alert
After sizzling at the highest day temperatures today, citizens of south Bengal, including Kolkata could face harsher days with the probability of temperature going up in the next few days.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that rain and thunderstorms will likely hit isolated places across eastern, central and western Uttar Pradesh in the next three hours.

According to ANI, the IMD has stated that dust storm, too, is likely to hit Sultanpur, Jaunpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh, Fatehpur, Kaushambi, Kanpur Nagar districts and adjoining areas.
The Met department said that heavy rains will likely hit isolated places on 17 June in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, south interior Karnataka, Konkan and Goa, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Assam and Meghalaya.

Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi and West UP will witness thunderstorm accompanied with squall on Sunday.
Heavy rains, thunderstorms will continue till 18 June in the regions.
Some parts of J-K, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Rayalaseema region will be hit by thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds and lightning.
