IAS Srinivas made Chief Secretary of Rajasthan

Senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer V Srinivas has been appointed the Chief Secretary of Rajasthan. The order for the posting was issued by the state Personnel (Ka-1) Department here on Sunday.

He replaces Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant, who has been sent to New Delhi on deputation as Secretary to the Union Ministry for Social Justice and Empowerment.

Besides his duties as the Chief Secretary, Srinivas will also hold the additional charge of the Chairman of the Rajasthan Mines and Mineral Corporation, Udaipur, and as the state’s Chief Resident Commissioner in New Delhi.

The Rajasthan cadre 1989 batch IAS officer, Srinivas, was on deputation in Delhi to the post of Secretary in the Department for Administrative Reforms, Public Grievances, and the Department of Pensions and Pensioners Welfare. He has been relieved by the Centre from the present post on Friday evening, on request from the Rajasthan government.

The Outgoing Chief Secretary, Pant, has been sent back on deputation to the Centre to the post of the Secretary. In a sudden move on Monday this week, Pant was called back to Delhi by the Centre for serving on deputation as the Secretary in the Ministry for Social Justice and Empowerment.

This assigned post will fall vacant on the retirement of incumbent officer Amit Yadav on November 30, 2025. Until the date, Pant will work as an officer on the special duty (OSD) in the Cabinet Secretariat.
