Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Brajesh Pathak said here on Friday that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s hunger for power prevents him from sleeping peacefully.

The Dy. CM, who visited the Kashi Vishwanath Temple for darshan and puja, told media persons that when Rahul Gandhi wins elections, he praises the Election Commission and EVMs, but when faced by a possible defeat in Bihar, he makes baseless allegations. He said that the people of the state and the country have understood him (Rahul) well.

Brajesh Pathak also attended a program organized by the Indian Red Cross Society here at the Circuit House.

He said the mafia rule has completely ended in Uttar Pradesh with no listed gang remaining active in the state. Strict action will be taken against anyone who breaks the law. “We are rapidly moving towards becoming a developed nation, and development work is progressing rapidly in the state and the country,” he added.
