In view of the New Year celebrations and the expected heavy influx of devotees, the Mathura administration and intelligence agencies have gone on high alert.

To strengthen security arrangements, the Local Intelligence Unit (LIU), along with the Dog Squad and Bomb Disposal Squad, conducted extensive checking operations at major religious sites across the district.

Security teams thoroughly searched the world-famous Banke Bihari Temple in Vrindavan, the Ladli Ji Temple in Barsana, and the Giriraj Mukharbind Temple in Govardhan. Public areas, footwear stands near the temple premises, and nearby shops were also meticulously inspected.

In addition to checking for suspicious objects, security personnel conducted random inspections of devotees’ bags and belongings. Metal detectors were used to screen two-wheelers and four-wheelers parked along the roads.

According to intelligence officials, police personnel in plain clothes have also been deployed to ensure there are no security lapses during the New Year celebrations. The administration has appealed to devotees to cooperate with security checks and to immediately report any unattended or suspicious objects to the police.
