Relentless heavy rain lashing almost the entire Madhya Pradesh for the past two days has led to flooding and inundation, with rivers overflowing in several areas. 9On Wednesday, teams from the Army, NDRF, and the state’s SDERF rescued more than 250 people stranded in villages across Shivpuri district.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav visited the State Command Centre and the Home Guards Headquarters in Bhopal today to monitor the situation. He held a meeting with officials and issued necessary instructions.

Army and NDRF teams used boats to rescue stranded residents from the villages of Sakhanour, Bahadurpura, Imlawadi, Dagpipari, and Kutwara in the Kolaras region of Shivpuri district, following the overflow of the Sindh River.

Pachawali village was particularly affected, with the old bridge over the Sindh submerged and floodwaters entering deep into the village.

In Guna district, a breach was reported in the Kalora Dam in the Bamori area. Army teams reached the spot and began evacuating residents from villages located in the danger zone.

A joint team comprising the Army, NDRF, SDERF, and local administration personnel was deployed to repair the dam and conduct rescue operations.

Collector Kishore Kumar Kanyal and SDM Shivani Pandey visited the site to oversee evacuation and repair efforts.
