Licenses to factories manufacturing medicine in Haryana will now be issued ‘online’. Haryana Health and Family Welfare Minister Anil Vij said here on Thursday that the state has become the first state in India to issue online license to a factory manufacturing medicine.
Giving details about the initiative, the minister said the process of applying for a license online is very simple. The applicant has to apply for his drug sales and manufacture/production license at statedrugs.gov.in.
Apart from Haryana, three other states, Goa, Delhi, and Jammu-Kashmir, issue online licenses for drug sales, while Haryana is the first state to issue online licenses for drug manufacturing, and blood centers, etc.

Vij said soon, in addition to the manufacturing license, the necessary certificates for tender and export, such as sale certificate, non-conviction certificate, manufacturing and market standing certificate, pharmaceutical product certificate, etc. will be applied for online.
While this online process will save paper and time for the preparation of huge files, corruption will be curbed as well.
Calling upon the drug manufacturers, Vij said that Haryana should set up its manufacturing units and work to promote this process by applying the existing manufacturing process online.
