A group of students and youths, led by former Independent MLA Sanyam Lodha and Rajasthan University Students Union ex-president Nirmal Chaudhary, on Wednesday embarked on a padyatra to save the Aravallis.

The march for social awareness over the “threat” looming over the existence of the oldest mountain range of India began on Wednesday from the Guru Shikhar (peak) of the Aravalli in Mount Abu after performing worship at the mythological shrine of Goddess Arbuda Maa.

“During this 1000-km padyatra, we would go up to village and hamlet level and hold all forms of awareness programmes to educate masses on fall out of the Supreme Court verdict of November 20, 2025 and appeal them to join in our campaign for creating ‘No harm situation’ for ‘Maa Aravalli’,” Chaudhary said.

“We would continue this crusade until a desired and credible solution is given by the government with guarantee for taking no move or action to put in peril the existence of the mountain range,” he added.

The yatra held interaction with people at 8 places on the first day today before calling it the day to take night halt at Mukadi Mata Temple in the Sirohi district itself.
