Former UP minister Nanak Ram Bhurji dies after falling from building at MLA residence complex

Former Uttar Pradesh minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Nanak Ram Bhurji died on Tuesday, July 28, after falling from an upper floor behind the Darulshafa new MLA Residence complex in Lucknow’s Hazratganj area.

The 68-year-old was a former minister of state and a member of the BJP.

Police officials said that the officer in charge of the MLA residence told the local police outpost that a man had fallen from an upper floor behind the legislators’ residential complex.

Bhurji was soon rushed to the Civil Hospital by police, but doctors declared him dead.

During preliminary investigation, it came to light that Bhurji was reportedly suffering from depression for a long time and was often seen moving around the MLA residence complex.

Officials said that the body has been sent for post-mortem and further investigation in the matter is underway.
