Former Union Minister Smriti Irani visits Amethi after eight months, meets BJP workers

Former Union Minister and ex-Amethi MP Smriti Irani arrived in Amethi on Wednesday on a day-long visit after an eight-month gap.

Ms Irani’s visit follows the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Rae Bareli MP Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Rae Bareli and Amethi.

Smriti Irani visited the homes of BJP workers and met with the bereaved families. She also met with workers at a worker training programme and discussed future strategies. BJP workers welcomed Smriti Irani at various locations.

Ms Irani visited the home of a BJP worker in Juthipur village to offer condolences. She met with the family of BJP booth president Pawan Pasi. During the meeting, Smriti Irani assured the family of all possible support. She consoled the family and assured them of educational and other facilities for the children. Pawan Pasi passed away a few days ago. He was a booth president in the BJP.

Smriti Irani also visited the residence of the late Brijesh Chandra Tiwari, elder brother of the district vice president, Ramesh Chandra Tiwari and offered her condolences. She assured the family of all possible support.

Smriti Irani then participated in a training programme organised in Musafirkhana, Amethi district, as part of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Training Maha Abhiyan 2026. She encouraged workers to strengthen the organisation’s ideology, methodology, and commitment to nation-building.
