Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said “financial inclusion” especially of those belonging to weaker sections was at the core of his government&’s focus.
Speaking at the National Conference of Schedule Castes/ Scheduled Tribes entrepreneurs, Modi said: “Financial Inclusion is at the core of our focus. We want to create job-creators, not job-seekers. Our government is your government and we are working for your empowerment.”
Invoking Dalit idol Bhimrao Ambedkar&’s contribution to the country, Modi said not many know that he was an “accomplished economist”.
“We all know Babasaheb Ambedkar was the architect of our constitution, but not many know that he was an accomplished economist too,” he said at the event.
“Babasaheb rightly said that industrialisation will give maximum benefit to our Dalit sisters and brothers,” he added.
The prime minister assured Dalit entrepreneurs that the government was working for their benefit and also presented five business excellence awards.
