A 25-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped for nearly two hours inside a moving vehicle after being offered a lift by two men in Haryana’s Faridabad. The incident took place on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.
Police have arrested two men in connection with the case, officials confirmed today.
Details of the incident
According to officials, the woman was waiting for a ride to return home around midnight when a van stopped and two men offered to drop her. Trusting them, she accepted the lift. However, instead of taking her home, the accused diverted the vehicle towards the Faridabad-Gurugram Road.
When the woman objected, she was allegedly assaulted. Police said one of the accused continued driving while the other raped her as the vehicle moved along the Faridabad-Gurugram stretch for nearly two hours. Around 3 am, the accused reportedly threw the woman out of the moving van near SGM Nagar and fled the spot.
The victim sustained injuries to her face and head and was rushed to a hospital in an injured condition. She was initially admitted to the Civil Hospital in Faridabad and later referred to AIIMS Delhi due to the seriousness of her injuries. Currently, she is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Faridabad.
