The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has been in the news of late for its chilling threat calls, ransom demands to Dhurandhar star Ranveer Singh and other Bollywood personalities, but another aspect within the same criminal ecosystem warrants equal scrutiny – the growing operational influence of women inside the syndicate.
The emergence of women in the operational core of the Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate has been significant in recent years. They are no longer confined to passive roles; instead, they handle logistics, communications, weapons, and in some cases, the planned execution of violent acts.
Law enforcement officials tracking the network report that women are no longer confined to peripheral or supportive roles. Instead, several cases over the past few years indicate active participation in logistics, communication chains, weapons handling, and coordination of criminal activities allegedly linked to the Bishnoi gang and its affiliated factions.
Women’s power in the Lawrence Bishnoi gang
1) Khushnuma Ansari, aka ‘Madam Zeher’
Known by aliases Neha and Madam Zeher, Khushnuma Ansari has been identified by authorities as a figure linked to the Bishnoi group. She was arrested by the Delhi Police Special Cell from Chauhan Bangar in North-East Delhi on 19 February, for her alleged involvement in operational coordination.

2) Zoya: Strategist behind Hashim Baba link
Zoya Khan, the wife of Hashim Baba gang leader Aman, was arrested alongside him in February last year. Authorities recovered three sophisticated pistols, four live cartridges, and Rs. 1,49,000 in cash.
Aman was reportedly involved in multiple attempt-to-murder cases and Arms Act violations. Zoya’s arrest highlighted the operational involvement of spouses in weapons movement and cash logistics, reinforcing how gang structures increasingly rely on trusted inner-circle women.
3) Maya: Key accused in courtroom conspiracy plot
Maya, a 28-year-old from Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, was arrested along with operatives linked to the Bishnoi-Goldy Brar nexus by the Chandigarh Crime Branch in a joint operation with the Special Cell of the Delhi Police in March 2024. Key allegations against her include links with gangster Rohit Godara via Instagram. It is alleged that she was part of the plan where she would enter a courtroom disguised as a lawyer and open fire. They were conspiring to kill members of a rival gang in court by posing as advocates.

Threat calls to Dhurandhar and other Bollywood stars
In recent months, threat calls, ransom demands, and even firing incidents have shaken the film industry, with alleged links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Police suspect a coordinated intimidation campaign targeting high-profile celebrities, including Dhurandhar actor Ranveer Singh.
A threatening WhatsApp voice note demanding ₹20 crore reportedly targeted Ranveer Singh. The sender identified himself as “Harry Boxer,” and investigators suspect possible links to the Bishnoi syndicate.
Earlier, Punjabi music star B Praak received a death threat demanding ₹10 crore. The caller, claiming to be “Arju Bishnoi,” allegedly warned that non-payment would have fatal consequences. Singer Dilnoor, associated with B Praak, was also dragged into the intimidation.
In another alarming incident, gunshots were reported outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence in Mumbai’s Juhu area. Meanwhile, Bhojpuri star Pawan Singh allegedly received threats warning him against appearing on stage with Salman Khan during a televised event.
Final Take
The Bollywood threat saga and the rise of women within the Bishnoi gang ecosystem together reveal a transforming underworld, which is tech-savvy, media-aware, and increasingly inclusive of female operatives.
