The Ministry of Railways today announced a major initiative, the Rail Tech Policy, enabling startups and innovators to directly collaborate with Indian Railways. A dedicated digital portal, Rail Tech Portal, was also launched during media interaction at the Railway Ministry in New Delhi today, making the entire process end-to-end digital.
The Ministry also announced a reform to transform the Railway Claims Tribunal (RCT) into a fully AI-based system. This will make claims processing faster, transparent, and citizen-centric, including 24×7 e-filing and automated alerts.
While launching the Rail Tech Portal, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw requested the startups, innovators across the country, and all the people who are interested in solving difficult problems with technology to get associated with the Rail Tech Portal.

The initiative is built upon a specific goal of inclusive innovation to drive national achievement.
The Rail Tech Policy will move forward with the vision of the Prime Minister that development is when science meets scale, when innovation becomes inclusive, when technology drives transformation.
The Rail Tech Policy has been started with the aim of eliminating barriers between railways and people. It will allow startups connect with railways in a very systematic way. It will let people who are doing research to connect with railways.
