The Delhi Police on Monday, July 20, denied reports circulating on social media claiming that Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke had been detained and termed them “entirely false”.
In a post on social media platform X, the police stated that Dipke remains “available on stage”.
“Misleading reports are currently circulating on various social media platforms claiming that Abhijeet Dipke has been detained by the Delhi Police. It is formally clarified that these allegations are entirely false and he is available on stage,” read the post.
This comes after CJP chief spokesperson Saurav Das, in a post on X, claimed that Abhijeet Dipke was detained by the Delhi Police, amid the ongoing ‘Chalo Sansad’ march by students demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged paper leaks.
“Dipke has been picked up by the police,” Das wrote.
He further requested all the MPs to “immediately stand in support of the students on the streets.”
“The police are brutally cracking down and beating peaceful protesters,” he alleged.
