Owner of Energie Gym located in the Preet Vihar area of East Delhi has been reportedly shot dead by three assailants, who barged into his office and fired at him point blank.
The deceased, Mahendra Agarwal, is said to be shot thrice and one bullet hit him in the head.
According to a police source, the incident took place at around 8 pm on Friday night. The accused fled the spot soon after committing the crime.
On information, a police team of Preet Vihar Police Station, along with senior police officials of East District reached the spot and shifted the deceased to a mortuary for post-mortem.
A case of murder has been registered by the Preet Vihar Police and efforts to nab the culprits have been initiated. Several police teams have been constituted to work out the murder case. Footage of the CCTV cameras installed near the spot have been seized.
Another police source said that the deceased was the chief executive officer (CEO) of the chain of fitness centres under the name of Energie Gym and Spa. He was also having a business of sales and purchase of equipment used in the gym training.
Headquarter of the Energy Gym and Spa was located on the first floor of a building on the Vikas Marg situated in the area of Preet Vihar.
According to sources, the killers took away a DVR of the CCTV cameras installed in the office to hide their identity.
At the time of the publication of the news, a senior police official, along with other staff of Preet Vihar Police Station, a crime team and forensics team were present at the spot.
According to locals, Mahendra Agarwal had a dispute with a restaurant owner for a long time and the incident could be linked to the personal enmity. The police are probing the angle too.
