An encounter is also going on in Kachdoora, Shopian, where some civilian are trapped. Efforts to rescue the trapped civilians are on.

Eleven militants killed in J-K gunfights

Eleven militants were killed and three soldiers were injured in two separate gunfights in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, police said.

The bodies of seven militants including top commanders have been recovered from Dragad in Shopian and one terrorist, reportedly, identified as Rouf Khandey of the Hizbul Mujahideen, was killed in Anantnag district’s Dialgam village, said SP Vaid, the Director General of Police (DGP) of Jammu and Kashmir. Three soldiers were also injured.


Vaid added that an encounter was also going on in Kachdoora, Shopian, where some civilian are trapped. Efforts to rescue the trapped civilians are on.

Internet services have been suspended in south Kashmir areas and Rail services between Baramulla in the Valley and Bannihal in the Jammu region have also been suspended for the day.
