The Enforcement Directorate(ED) has issued summons to Sabarimala temple Thantri Kandararu Rajeevaru and former Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) president N Vasu to appear for interrogation in the first week of March in connection with its ongoing probe into the alleged Sabarimala gold theft case.

After being arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the case, both Rajeevaru and Vasu were granted statutory bail by the Kollam Vigilance Court in the cases registered against them. They have been asked to appear at the ED office in Kochi in the first week of March.

Thantri Kandararu Rajeevaru, who was arrested by the SIT, was released on Friday after spending 41 days in jail. The Kollam Vigilance Court on Wednesday granted him bail in the Sabarimala gold heist case, ruling that investigators had failed to produce “an iota of evidence” to establish a prima facie case against him.

N Vasu was granted statutory bail in the Sabarimala gold theft case by the Kollam Vigilance Court on February 11 after the SIT failed to file charges within 90 days of his arrest.
