The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday summoned RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's daughter Misa Bharti in a money-laundering case probe.

The summon comes two days after the ED raided three Delhi properties allegedly belonging to Misa and her husband Shailesh Kumar.

The searches were conducted by the ED in connection with its probe into alleged laundering of over Rs. 8,000 crore by two market entry operators, identified as Surendra Jain and Virendra Jain, through a maze of shell companies.

Last month, the ED had arrested Misa Bharti’s chartered accountant Rajesh Agrawal from Delhi for his involvement in money laundering.

Bharti and her husband Shailesh Kumar are being probed over allegations that they acquired benami or proxy ownership of land.

The I-T department had also attached a total of 12 plots of Misa Bharti and her husband Shailesh Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav and ex chief minister Rabri Devi, and sisters Ragini and Chanda Yadav.

Earlier in the day, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) said that former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad Yadav's son Tejashwi Yadav will not resign as Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister after the party MLAs met on Monday.

The meeting was convened in the wake of several CBI raids on Lalu Prasad Yadav and the FIR against Tejashwi.
