ED send notices to 16 people in Gomti River Front scam

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is investigating the Rs 1,500-crore Gomti riverfront scam. The project, of the previous Akhikesh Yadav government, involved in the construction of a rubber dam to maintain its water level, a stadium, an amphitheatre for 2,000 people, cycle and jogging tracks, a play area for children and a musical fountain.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued  notices to 16 people in connection with Gomti River Front scam in Lucknow during the previous Samajwadi Party regime.
Sources said here on Wednesday that notices have also been issued to former UP Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan and former state Principal Secretary Irrigation Deepak Singhal.
Reports also said that a notice has also been sent to former UP minister Shivpal Singh Yadav who is uncle of Akhilesh Yadav and founder of Pragatsheel Samajwadi Party Lohia(PSPL)..

The ED had  filed a criminal case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in March 2018 in connection with corruption in the Gomti Riverfront Development Project.
