The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday released the draft voter list for Madhya Pradesh, following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) drive conducted in the state.
As per ECI officials, the SIR found 31.51 lakh voters absent or shifted from their previous addresses.
Besides, 8.46 lakh voters were found to be deceased. The number of voters registered at multiple places in the electoral rolls is 2.77 lakh in the state.
The ECI informed that MP had more than 5.74 crore registered voters, out of which more than 5.31 crore submitted the enumeration forms in the SIR.
The ECI officials also held a meeting with representatives of political parties before publicizing the draft voter list of the state.
The ECI has clarified that the voters who could not be traced have the opportunity to get their names added to the voters’ list, and submit objections and claims till 22 January 2026.
The ECI has provided different options to people to get their names added to the voter list. Such persons can either do that online or offline by contacting the Booth Level Officers (BLO) of their respective polling booths.
To ensure transparency, the Election Commission will release a final deleted names list along with the final voter list on 21 February 2026.
The draft voter list has been issued for all the 230 Assembly constituencies in the 55 districts of MP. The SIR drive began in Madhya Pradesh on 4 November.
