The Election Commission of India Thursday held a meeting with a delegation from the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam led by its Rajya Sabha member N R Elango at Nirvachan Sadan, New Delhi, the poll panel said in a post on its handle X.
The meeting was attended by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi.
The interaction aimed to foster a collaborative environment where the DMK could directly communicate its suggestions, concerns, and feedback to the Commission.
The ECI’s outreach underlines its commitment to inclusive electoral governance and continuously evolving the electoral ecosystem through dialogue, transparency, and cooperation.
The DMK meeting follows similar interactions with other major political parties, including the Bahujan Samaj Party led by Party President Mayawati on May 6, the Bharatiya Janata Party led by its president J P Nadda on May 8, and the Telugu Desam Party led by its State President, Palla Srinivasa Rao, on July 15.
The Election Commission of India has been engaging in structured dialogues with presidents and senior representatives of various national and state-level political parties to enhance the integrity and transparency of the electoral process.
These interactions allow parties to share their views, concerns, and suggestions directly with the Commission, promoting a more participatory approach in election management and policy formulation.
