The security agencies have nabbed the manager of the DRDO guest house in the Pokhran field firing range here for allegedly spying and passing off sensitive information regarding the activities of the army and defence scientists to Pakistan.

According to official sources here, the accused Mahendra Prasad had been posted
as manager at the DRDO guest house since 2008. Prasad, a native of Almora-Uttarakhand, was under the scanner of security agencies for some time. He was taken into custody in Jaisalmer Monday night.

The security agencies checked his mobile phone records and found that he had called up a few Pakistan-registered registered numbers.

During his 17-year long posting at the DRDO field firing range in Pokaran, he allegedly spied on visiting scientists and the army movement and activities. He has passed on secret defence information to his contacts across the border, they said.

Prasad will be later handed over to the Central Joint Interrogation Committee.
