US President Donald Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr, is visiting Agra on Thursday for a tour of the Taj Mahal. He will land at Kheria Airport in a special aircraft before heading to the iconic monument. This will be his first visit, although his father and former First Lady Melania Trump toured the Taj in 2020.
Local authorities have carried out an extensive clean-up along the route, removing stray animals and stepping up security arrangements to ensure a smooth visit.
Why Donald Trump Jr is in India
Trump Jr, who is also a businessman, is expected to continue to Udaipur later this week to attend the destination wedding of an Indian-American couple. A US security team is already in the city assessing preparedness ahead of his arrival.
Inside the Udaipur wedding schedule
The wedding festivities will take place on November 21 and 22.
The main ceremony is scheduled at Jag Mandir Palace on Lake Pichola, while other functions will unfold at Manek Chowk within the City Palace complex.
Sources say Trump Jr will stay at The Leela Palace Udaipur.
Udaipur on high alert for VIP movement
The Rajasthan administration has deployed heightened security across Udaipur and along the airport route. Several politicians, celebrities, and high-profile guests are also expected to attend the two-day celebration.
Why Udaipur remains a global wedding hotspot
Known as the ‘City of Lakes’, Udaipur’s palaces, heritage hotels, and royal architecture have long attracted lavish destination weddings. The city has previously hosted celebrations involving Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, Hardik Pandya, Isha Ambani, Raveena Tandon, and Neil Nitin Mukesh.
