After a domestic help was found dead at state’s Food Supplies Minister Krushna Chandra Patra’s residence on Friday, the Opposition BJD alleged foul play, seeking a probe into what they said was a ‘mysterious’ death.
Shankarshan Nag was working as a domestic help at the residence of the Minister. He was found in an unconscious state and was rushed to the hospital where doctors declared him dead.
The police took the body in their custody before sending it for post mortem.
In a related development, the BJD demanded a thorough independent probe into the incident. The party said that the death occurred under very mysterious circumstances and there is speculation of electrocution. The BJP government should order an independent inquiry, it added.
