Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Uttar Pradesh was not a sick state, but dishonest political parties had made it a sick state.
“Corruption and the alliance politics had pushed this prosperous state into an identity crisis. Before 2017, there was sharing in appointments, qualified candidates were victims of discrimination and corruption,” he alleged.
He said that after 1947, till 1960, UP was the leading state of the country, whose contribution was more than 14%. But after 1960, the decline started and after 1990 it became more rapid. By 2017, UP’s contribution fell to less than 8%.
The Chief Minister said that during this period, UP lagged behind in food production, infrastructure and investment. The youth used to go out of UP, but even there, they faced an identity crisis.
CM Yogi was addressing the appointment letter distribution program for 2,425 main sevikas and 13 pharmacists selected by the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission here on Wednesday.
Addressing the program, CM Yogi said that the distribution of appointment letters to the newly selected Mukhya Sevikas and Pharmacists under the aegis of the Women and Child Development Department is an opportunity for the daughters of the entire state.
CM Yogi, while emphasizing women’s empowerment, said that 12,045 daughters were selected in 60,244 recruitments in UP Police 2 months ago. There were only 10,000 women police personnel in 1947-2017, but more than 40,000 daughters were recruited in 8 years.
The CM said that after the NFHS survey (2015-16), since 2017, anemia among women decreased by 5.1%, stunting by 6.6%, underweight by 7.4%, and dryness by 0.6%. Infant mortality rate decreased to 38 and maternal mortality rate to 197.
Emphasizing on nutrition and malnutrition prevention in Anganwadi centers, he said that the figures will improve with smartphones and real-time monitoring. He said that every Anganwadi center should get nutrition on time, whether it is a malnourished person or a child, the available nutrition should be available to them on time, they should get the benefits of all types of schemes, for this the main workers will have to come forward as a leader.
