Deputy Inspector General of Police Rajouri-Poonch Range, Tejinder Singh, on Sunday reviewed the security and intelligence scenario along the Line of Control (LOC) in Poonch and emphasised strong intelligence and effective policing to ensure peace in the border district.

In an effort to strengthen relationships with the border residents, the DIG, along with SSP Poonch Shafqat Hussain, also conducted an extensive visit to the vulnerable areas of Kirni and Qasaba across the border fence in the Poonch district.

During the visit, the senior officers interacted directly with the local populace and listened to their grievances and concerns.

Issues related to civic amenities, security, border-specific hardships, movement restrictions, and other day-to-day problems faced by residents living in forward areas were brought to the notice of the officers.

Addressing the gathering, DIG Tejinder Singh emphasised that the police administration is fully committed to the welfare and security of border residents. He assured the public that their genuine issues would be taken up with the concerned departments for time-bound redressal, and necessary follow-up would be ensured at the district and range level.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Poonch, Shafqat Hussain, reiterated that the Police remains accessible and responsive to the needs of the people, especially those residing in vulnerable and far-flung border areas.

He assured that grievances falling within the police domain would be addressed promptly, while matters pertaining to other departments would be coordinated effectively to ensure early resolution.

The officers also appealed to the public to continue extending cooperation to the police and other security agencies in maintaining peace, law and order, and overall security in the border belt.
The visit and Public Durbar were widely appreciated by the residents, who expressed satisfaction over the administration’s outreach and the assurance of early redressal of their issues.
