Former Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar underwent a successful angioplasty at the EHCC Hospital here on Friday.
Dhankhar, who flew in from New Delhi this morning, went to the hospital for his regular health checkup including required cardiac tests.
US-based renowned cardiac surgeon Dr Sameen Sharma conducted a thorough cardiac checkup and advised an immediate angioplasty procedure. Angioplasty was conducted late this afternoon by doctors under direct supervision of Dr Sharma. Two stens were also put-in during the procedure, Ex VP’s younger brother Randeep Dhankhar said.
“After the angioplasty, Dhankhar is comfortable, and also sipped tea,” Randeep said.
Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot called on the ex-Vice President at the hospital this morning and wished him early recovery.
This was the second angioplasty on him in almost one year. Earlier too, Dhankhar had undergone the angioplasty and stent placement at AIIMS Delhi in March 2025.
While abruptly stepping down as the Vice-President in July last year, Dhankhar had cited health concerns in the resignation.
