Devotees throng Ayodhya after ‘Mauni Amavasya’ bathing in Prayagraj

Over 10 lakh devotees take holy dip in Sangam on Mahashivratri; Magh Mela concludes

After taking a holy dip in Prayagraj on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya on Friday, lakhs of devotees reached Ayodhya for darshan of Ram Lalla on Saturday. Every ghat on Saryu river, monasteries, temples and streets, has witnessed devotees since Friday night.

Eyewitnesses claim there is a beeline of devotees on the Ram Janmabhoomi path. The arrangement for keeping and checking the luggage of the devotees have also failed due to the huge crowd. A large number of devotees were seen entering Ram Janmabhoomi with luggage and mobile phones.

By 3 PM, more than two lakh devotees had the darshan of Ram Lalla. Shoes and slippers of devotees were lying everywhere on the Ram Janmabhoomi path. As per the religious belief, bathing in Saryu has a great significance.

There was a queue of devotees at Hanumangarhi as well. The police administration had to struggle to control the crowd. The devotees who had entered the temple were being evacuated through the back route due to which many devotees got separated from their families.
