The world-famous Ganga Maha Aarti held at Dashashwamedh Ghat on the auspicious evening of Dev Deepawali in Kashi was this year dedicated to ‘Operation Sindoor.’ The grand festival of ‘Dev Deepawali’ symbolizing spirituality and nationalism, was celebrated with great devotion and splendour at Dashashwamedh Ghat.
The Maha Aarti was performed by 21 priests and 42 Devkanyas, creating an atmosphere of deep reverence along the sacred banks of the Ganga. As part of the long-running “Ek Sankalp Ganga Kinare” campaign, the Ganga Seva Nidhi administered a pledge to devotees to keep the holy river clean and pure, while promoting environmental and water conservation.
Dashashwamedh Ghat was adorned with 21 quintals of flower garlands and illuminated by 51,000 lamps, while nearby ghats also glowed beautifully in celebration. A 20-foot-high replica of the Amar Jawan Jyoti stood prominently, inspiring patriotism among the devotees. Many army officers attended the event to pay their respects.
To ensure smooth proceedings for the lakhs of devotees from India and abroad, the organizers installed 30 CCTV cameras for security monitoring. In addition, 100 volunteers from Bharat Sevashram Sangh and 150 volunteers from Ganga Seva Nidhi assisted in crowd management and safety operations with necessary security equipment.
