Delhi: Massive fire guts exhibition goods warehouse in Chandan Hola

A major fire broke out at a warehouse storing exhibition materials in the Chandan Hola area of the national capital on Sunday morning.

The incident triggered a firefighting operation with over 25 fire tenders pressed into service, IANS reported.

The firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control after hours of sustained efforts, while there were no casualties reported in the incident.

As per the Delhi Fire Services (DFS), a call about the fire was received by officials at around 2:11 a.m. The fire was reported at a tin-shed warehouse spread across nearly two acres in Chandan Hola. The incident caused panic in the area, with flames rapidly engulfing the premises.

After receiving the alert, the Delhi Fire Services had rushed over 25 fire tenders to the spot and a major firefighting operation was launched to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby structures.

Officials have said that the firefighting operation continued for several hours and the blaze was later brought under control.

As of now, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. An investigation will be carried out to determine the circumstances that led to the incident.
