Defence Minister and Lucknow MP Rajnath Singh on Saturday interacted directly with intellectuals and heard their suggestions, problems, and ideas.
The interactive session, titled Prabuddh Jan Samvad, was organised by Central Division-2 of Lucknow Metropolitan Area at the Rai Uma Bali Auditorium in Kaiserbagh. UP Deputy Chief Minister Brijesh Pathak and BJP Lucknow Metropolitan President Anand Dwivedi were also present.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated that he had come to the public not to deliver a speech, but to inquire about their well-being and to communicate directly with them. He said that suggestions from public representatives and citizens play a crucial role in shaping the direction of development work, as the central and state governments are continuously working in coordination for the overall development of Lucknow.
Various intellectuals expressed their views during the programme.
Gaurav Upadhyay praised the efforts made to streamline the city’s traffic system. He said that the establishment of open gyms in various areas is providing health benefits to youth, women, and senior citizens.
Trader leader Anil Bajaj said that the Defence Minister always listens seriously to the problems of Lucknow’s businessmen. He said that whenever any issue related to business interests is brought before him, effective measures are taken to resolve it quickly. On behalf of the business community, he thanked the Defence Minister for this sensitivity and promptness.
Ranjit Chaudhary highlighted recent incidents of falling trees, noting that as soon as the Defence Minister became aware of the issue, he immediately issued instructions to the concerned officials. Following his intervention, relief and rescue operations were expedited, ensuring timely assistance to affected people. He praised the Defence Minister’s sensitivity towards public problems.
Shiv Prakash Pujari expressed his gratitude to the Defence Minister for the construction of a community centre in the area, noting that it has provided local citizens with better facilities for organising social, cultural, and community events. This centre has established itself as an important public facility for residents.
Kedar Nath Bajpai expressed his gratitude to the Defence Minister for the Lucknow Metro Phase-2 project, saying that the completion of this project will greatly facilitate the transportation of millions of citizens in the city and will further modernise and strengthen Lucknow’s urban transportation.
The Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh said that under the leadership of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Lucknow is continuously achieving new heights of development. Unprecedented work has been done in the areas of roads, flyovers, health, education, and infrastructure, making Lucknow one of the leading cities in the country.
Earlier, the Lucknow MP visited the residences of a couple of people to express his condolences on the death of their family members.
