Two days after a Dalit youth was killed allegedly by eight men belonging to Patel community for attending a garba event, a Dalit teen was reportedly stabbed by unidentified youth in Gujarat.

According to media reports, the teen was returning from school after an examination when he was allegedly stabbed by the miscreants on Tuesday.

The teen was taken to the hospital for treatment and is out of danger.

An FIR has been filed under Section 326 of the IPC (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means). The boy was attacked with a blade by two men on a bike who had their faces covered,  said media reports.

The victim is the cousin of a Dalit youth, who was allegedly beaten by men for ‘sporting a moustache’ last week. The attackers allegedly belonged to the upper caste ‘who said Dalits cannot sport moustaches’.

On Monday, eight people were arrested for allegedly killing a 21-year-old Dalit man for attending a garba event in Gujarat.

Recently, two Dalit men of a village near Gandhinagar were allegedly thrashed by members of the Rajput community for ‘sporting a moustache’ in two separate incidents, on September 25 and 29.

The state had witnessed massive protests in July last year over the brutal thrashing of four Dalit men at a village in Una town.
