The Communist Party of India (Marxist) strongly condemned what it termed a “blatant act of US aggression” against Venezuela on Saturday, accusing the United States of bombing multiple sites in the Latin American country as part of a broader strategy to enforce regime change.

In a statement from its Polit Bureau, the CPI(M) criticized the recent military action as a clear demonstration of the US National Security Strategy 2025, highlighting the mobilization of American military and naval forces around Venezuela over recent weeks. The party described this as a revival of interventionist policies reminiscent of the Monroe Doctrine, labeling it the “Trump corollary” to the long-standing US policy of asserting dominance in the Western Hemisphere.

The CPI(M) called for an immediate halt to hostilities and demanded the withdrawal of all US troops from the Caribbean Sea. It further urged that Latin America be declared a “zone of peace” and insisted that the US must not interfere in the internal affairs of sovereign nations.

Appealing to the international community, the party urged the United Nations Security Council to pass a resolution condemning the US actions and to apply pressure to stop the aggression. The statement comes amid escalating global tensions following reports of increased US military activity near Venezuela, drawing widespread criticism from leftist and anti-imperialist groups worldwide.
