Congress leaders, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and K C Venugopal, Thursday expressed concerns over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in Bihar, alleging potential voter disenfranchisement and irregularities.
In a post on handle X, Priyanka Gandhi asked if “votebandi” (vote ban) is being implemented in Bihar due to alleged irregularities and fraud in the SIR process.
Taking to his X handle, Venugopal said the SIR exercise exposes the BJP-controlled election commission, with preliminary estimates suggesting around 35 lakh voters may be disenfranchised.
Expressing concerns over potential disenfranchisement of voters, the leaders said journalists exposing alleged issues are facing FIRs.
Cautioning against the possibility of mass-scale election rigging, Venugopal however said: “We will never let it pass.”
