‘Congress places political frustration above national interest’: BJP holds massive protest against ‘shirtless’ protest at AI Summit

A massive protest was held by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers today near the Congress headquarters against the shirtless protest by Indian Youth Congress (IYC) at the AI Impact Summit 2026 yesterday. The demonstration, led by the party’s Delhi unit chief Virendra Sachdeva, saw participation of thousands of workers, including MPs, MLAs, and municipal councillors, including state unit office bearers Vishnu Mittal, Praveen Shankar Kapoor, Vinay Rawat, and others.

Sharply condemning the Congress party for its alleged actions at the AI summit, the party workers climbed barricades, raising slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram.” They have demanded an apology from the Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, alleging that it was a shameful protest by the Youth Congress workers at the grand summit yesterday.

While the protestors attempted to march forward to the Congress party office, Delhi Police stopped and detained them, taking them to the Tughlak Road Police Station. However, they were released after an hour with a warning.

Sachdeva called it an attempt to belittle India’s achievements

The Delhi BJP president reiterated that the AI Summit was not a party’s event, but a national event, and disrupting it was tantamount to anti-national conduct. He stated that at such an important forum, where India was presenting its innovation strength, startup ecosystem, and digital transformation to the world, the Congress party’s actions reflected nothing but its negative politics.

Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva says, “…Rahul Gandhi has stooped to a level where now they have started protesting against the nation just to protest against PM Modi…AI summit was not a political level, it was an international event…”

He further said that when the entire world is recognizing India’s technological progress and digital leadership, such disruption by Congress is extremely unfortunate.
