The opposition Congress in Madhya Pradesh staged a ‘buffalo’ protest in the State Assembly on the second day of the ongoing monsoon session on Tuesday. They alleged that farmers have been continuously complaining about various issues to the government, but all their demands have fallen on deaf ears.

Two Congress MLAs wore masks of buffaloes, and some others played flutes in front of them.

Assembly Leader of the Opposition, Umang Singhar, said that the protest was to highlight the problems faced by the hapless farmers of the state, including the unavailability of fertilizers, substandard seeds, and their other demands from the government.

Singhar said that the farmers have been continuously complaining about various issues, but all their demands are falling on the deaf ears of the state government, which is acting like a buffalo.

“Yeh to bhains ke aage bein bajane jaisa hai (one is giving something valuable advice to someone who is not appreciating it),” he pointed out.

Singhar accused the BJP government of being insensitive towards the issues concerning the people. He asserted that the Congress would fight from the road to the Assembly for the rights of the common man.
