Rajasthan Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasra has handed over cash relief of ₹1 lakh each to the next of kin of the seven schoolchildren who lost their lives in the recent ceiling collapse at a school in Piplodi village, Jhalawar district.
The state Congress chief visited the village, located in Manohar Thana block, to personally deliver the relief amount. He also provided ₹10,000 to each of the injured and assured the bereaved families that the Congress party would extend all possible help and support.
“The leaders and workers of the Congress will also continue to assist these families,” Dotasra said.
Appealing to all public representatives to rise above party politics, he urged them to support the victims and play a constructive role in overhauling the system, the failure of which, he said, was responsible for the tragedy. “We must ensure that such tragedies never occur again,” he added.
Dotasra further stated, “The Congress will raise this issue in the next Assembly session and request the Speaker to hold a meaningful discussion so that a unanimous solution can be reached.”
The Piplodi school mishap, which occurred on July 25, claimed the lives of seven students and left 27 others injured.
