In order to counter the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio talk, ‘Mann ki Baat’, the Congress started ‘Desh ki Baat’ from Saturday. The move has been taken by the Congress to increase its reach to the people.

The first episode of the show was telecasted today at 11am on social media. The presenter of the show was party spokesperson Pawan Khera.

The party spokesperson took a dig at the performance of second term of Narendra Modi led NDA government at the centre. He urged the people to ask question to the ruling party on different ongoing issues like PMC bank crisis, increasing rate of tomatoes and NRC list among others.

He further blamed the government for diverting the core issues and talking only about Pakistan during the recently concluded state assembly elections in Haryana and Maharashtra.

A senior party leader earlier informed that, “With the assembly election results, the mandate of the people is clear. People’s issues need to be addressed, you can no longer digress, and our increasing support implies that people have put their faith in the Congress.”

“And as a responsible opposition in the country, Congress will raise issues that concern the public. Each episode will address the most pressing issues and will be hosted by party leaders and spokespersons,” he added.

Earlier, the Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit had started ‘Kaam Ki Baat’ with the aim to give a point-wise rebuttal raised by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his ‘Mann ki Baat’. He discontinued the program later.
