The Congress on Sunday launched a scathing attack on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government as they are celebrating April Fools’ Day as ‘Jumla Divas’.

The Opposition party Congress often mocks the initiatives taken or promises made by the BJP as ‘jumla’.

On 1 April, the party sharpened its attack on BJP and took to Twitter posting a mocking video along with some pictures with sarcastic comments.

The video mentioned several promises made by the prime minister during his electoral campaign in 2014. The video says Rs 15 lakh has been deposited in the account of every Indian citizen.

The Congress also took a dig at the BJP for the Punjab National Bank fraud case. The party alleged that prime accused of the PNB fraud, Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi, were gifted with foreign trips as they contributed to PM Modi’s ‘swach bharat abhiyan’ (Clean India Movement).

The video adds that the country has become corruption-free post demonetisation. The attack on BJP continued as video ended by saying that the central government has provided 200 crore jobs because of which even aliens from Mars have started to work in India.

In one of the pictures shared on Twitter, Congress remarked, “Thanks to the Modi government for eradicating corruption from the very roots. Jay Shah too says thanks.”

Congress also came up with a new slogan “Na hee soch, Na hee Umeed” for the BJP for the 2019 general elections.
