Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday expressed grief over the death of several devotees in a stampede at Sheetla Mata temple in Bihar’s Nalanda.

In a condolence message to the bereaved families, Rekha Gupta wished them strength in this hour of grief and prayed for the deceased. Taking to social media platform X, she called the news extremely heartbreaking and wished a fast recovery to the injured.

Meanwhile, Bihar’s Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary expressed sorrow over the tragic incident. He called the stampede at the Temple in Nalanda extremely heart-wrenching.

According to the Deputy CM, the government is providing all possible assistance to the affected families, adding that arrangements have been made for the proper treatment of the injured.

Reports attributed the tragedy in which several people were killed while many others were injured to a sudden rush of devotees for the temple fair following the collapse of barricades.
